This is a collaborative piece created in part by the members of The Pencil Art Foundation, who during the launch of their organisation each had the opportunity to create part of an artwork on a blank canvas using spray paint. This abstract canvas with broad spray paint strokes in a multitude of colours formed the basis for the final image created by Corné Eksteen.

A deconstructed floral stillive was painted over the spray paint base leaving as much of the original image exposed or covered with thin transparent layers in oil. The final product is both abstract and figurative with a slight optical illusion.

This artwork will be auctioned at an upcoming charity event hosted by The Pencil Art Foundation.
